Account Director – Localisation

JOB PURPOSE

An autonomous, process-driven individual responsible for actively managing multiple localization clients and overseeing the success of these respective businesses.  This individual will be the primary brand guardian and strategic partner that manages the day-to-day Spark team and manages the ongoing client relationship. As the account lead you will collaborate closely with the operations, language management, finance and leadership teams at Spark to ensure operational excellence and the success of the account.

In addition, this individual will actively work to identify growth opportunities and areas of innovation. They will have the ability to think strategically and execute proposals as needed. 

You will partner closely with the Group VP to ensure client KPI’s and business priorities are being achieved and strategize on opportunities to expand and grow the partnerships.

The right candidate will have experience building and leading teams in a fast-paced environment, specific translation and localization experience and the ability to think strategically and commercially and evoke operational excellence from their team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Overall management and strategic oversight of multiple localization accounts.
  • Working to a set of clear objectives, this individual will be responsible for the successful delivery of accurate, on time, delivery and maintaining sufficient resources to suit demand and delivering against budgeted EBITDA and margin levels.  
  • Oversees account managers, project managers and effectively manages the resource needs of their accounts.
  •  Collaborates with operations, language services, finance, procurement, and leadership teams to effectively run their accounts.
  • Responsible for evaluating processes and workflows and collaborating with operations team lead to identify improvements and efficiencies. Focus on supporting initiatives to drive further efficiencies and also recognising expansion of services within their accounts.
  • Other tasks include: Objective setting, measuring individual performance of team members. You will also be required to ensure you are knowledgeable on the company’s full service offering and remain up to date as this evolves.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent client relationship and management skills, with a proven ability to lead client accounts.
  • A proactive management style and considerate liaison. The chosen individual must be able to deliver all aspects of the service requirement.
  • The individual must be self-motivated and driven and demonstrate that they have a solution-oriented management style.
  • Possess an analytical mindset with the ability to make commercial decisions for Spark and client partners.
  • Experience at financial management and control as well as the ability to manage well under pressure and provide a positive and calm environment for your team in these circumstances is critical.
  • Managing and supporting the implementation processes that facilitate the creation and automation of new client accounts into existing processes and systems within the team.
  • Vast understanding of the localization industry and process and a familiarity with various production capabilities and asset types including: packaging, html, video, SEO and all digital platforms.
  • Client service experience at a managerial level with localisation-specific experience required. Preferable to also have digital agency experience.
