Job purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled Arabic Editor / Copywriter with expertise in strategic communication to craft compelling and impactful content that aligns with Abu Dhabi’s communication objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media, government, or corporate communication, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and cultural relevance in all editorial materials.
Duties and responsibilities:
Content Development & Editing
- Write, edit, and proofread high-quality Arabic content for press releases, reports, speeches, digital platforms, and strategic publications.
- Ensure all content aligns with Abu Dhabi’s communication strategy and brand voice.
- Adapt complex policy or corporate messages into engaging and accessible Arabic content.
- Maintain consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all editorial materials.
Strategic Communication & Messaging
- Develop content that supports government initiatives, corporate messaging, and media campaigns.
- Craft clear and persuasive Arabic copy that resonates with diverse audiences, including policymakers, media, and the public.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to refine key messages and narratives.
Media & Public Relations Support
- Assist in drafting official statements, op-eds, and media responses in Arabic.
- Ensure alignment with Abu Dhabi’s strategic communication goals in all public-facing content.
- Monitor Arabic media coverage and provide editorial insights for effective storytelling.
Digital & Social Media Content
- Create engaging Arabic content for social media, websites, and digital campaigns.
- Adapt editorial materials for SEO, readability, and audience engagement.
- Work closely with design and multimedia teams to develop visually compelling content.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all Arabic content is linguistically and culturally accurate, adhering to Abu Dhabi’s official communication standards.
- Review and refine translations to maintain high editorial quality and consistency.
- Stay updated with regional media trends, linguistic developments, and cultural sensitivities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Media, Communication, Arabic Language, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in Arabic editorial roles, preferably in strategic communication, government, or corporate media.
- Strong understanding of Abu Dhabi’s media landscape, government initiatives, and cultural nuances.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Modern Standard Arabic.
- Proficiency in English-Arabic translation and localization.
- Experience in media relations, crisis communication, and public affairs content is a plus.
