The Department of Translation and Interpretation at Bilkent University invites applications for one full-time open rank position for English and/or French courses. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Translation Studies, or related subjects at the time of appointment. Native or near-native fluency in English, and/or French, and/or Turkish is required. All candidates should have an active research agenda.
The Translation and Interpretation Department at Bilkent University offers a dynamic and highly respected undergraduate program that prepares students for careers in the translation and interpreting fields. The department is home to a diverse faculty of experienced academics who are committed to helping students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the field for the last 30 years. Students have the opportunity to learn from experts in a wide range of specialties, including translation theory; translation in special fields, including audio-visual translation and localization; and interpreting in different settings. Recognized as a center of excellence by the European Union institutions, the Department also offers a non-thesis graduate program in conference interpreting following the AIIC and the EMCI criteria for teaching conference interpreting.
