Position Summary

Lionbridge is seeking a Business Development Director to support new business development as well as the growth of existing business portfolios. The role requires a highly self-motivated and proactive individual with proven customer focus, ability to comprehend new areas, and ability to develop relationships

What You Will Do

  • Identify, qualify, and develop potential clients.
  • Build up a pipeline of prospective clients through cold calling, events etc.
  • Master and maintain vast knowledge of client’s business, competition, and latest industry news and trends.
  • Manage existing client relationships and developing long term business/leads to growth in business.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure that client expectations are met.
  • Support Account team in developing RFPs and Proposals in collaboration with the Operations team(s).
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements.
  • Act as an escalation point for operational issues for the client.
  • Communicate account activities effectively

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years track record in a business development or account management role.
  • Experience in large scale solutions delivery to large clients.
  • Ideally, has translation or localization background.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in leveraging generative AI tools for localization, content creation, and process optimization, with a proven ability to educate enterprise clients on emerging AI trends, showcase AI-powered localization platforms, and position AI-driven solutions as strategic advantages by highlighting their impact on automation, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Ability to handle multiple customer accounts well.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to lead / guide organization to achieve best-of-class deliverables quality, quality of service, etc.
  • Ability to learn new fields of expertise in a dotted line environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to see the “big picture” as well as quantify growth potential.
  • Ability to work with different time zone and cultures.
  • Must demonstrate energy and enthusiasm in the workplace.
  • Must be available to travel whenever/wherever necessary.
  • Cost/accounting/financials analysis knowledge.
