Description

Position Title: Business Development Manager, Korea

Reporting to: Senior Director of Business Development, APAC

Summary

In this role, you will lead client relationships and business development efforts with studios, streaming platforms, and content owners for Deluxe’s Localization, Platform & Fulfillment, and Marketing business units. Collaborating with executive and operations teams, you will build and maintain strong client networks, staying informed of their strategies and portfolio changes to drive market share growth.

You will oversee core business processes, including rate negotiations, Statements of Work (SOWs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), RFP submissions, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and client feedback reviews. Leveraging strong negotiating skills and expertise in the Media & Entertainment (M&E) space, you will ensure alignment with Deluxe’s strategic goals.

Success in this role requires knowledge of your client, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. A proactive mindset and an analytical approach to solving client challenges will be key to driving opportunities and achieving results.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Management

  • Retain and create new opportunities within existing studio partnerships to drive Deluxe’s localization, platform, and fulfillment businesses.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, managing partnerships, onboarding new partners, and fostering user growth with content management partners.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client escalations, ensuring timely resolution and actionable solutions in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Represent Deluxe in Quarterly Business Review (QBRs) and regular client calls, leveraging feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead RFPs and RFQs submissions, aligning proposals to client needs while coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Track client opportunities and ensure alignment with Deluxe’s overall strategy through collaboration with Line of Business (LOB) Executives.

Project and Financial Oversight

  • Contribute to shaping budget forecasts and revenue projections while supporting billing processes and monitoring key account financials.
  • Monitor and refine account plans to strengthen client relationships, identify revenue opportunities, assess risks and variances, and present key insights to executive teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure efficient financial tracking while addressing potential issues with the support of internal finance teams.

Workflow Optimization & Process Management

  • Be familiar with Deluxe’s technology and development roadmaps.
  • Identify and propose workflow enhancements and efficiency improvements in collaboration with internal technical and operational teams.
  • Leverage knowledge of localization workflows to support client projects, ensuring they meet Deluxe’s high standards.
  • Monitor performance SLAs, address blockers, and flag areas requiring attention or improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work across all Deluxe business lines—Localization, Platform & Fulfillment, Client Services, and Operations Teams—to align on and deliver client objectives.
  • Collaborate with Deluxe global offices and leaders to identify regional client needs, opportunities, and synergies.

Experience

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in the media, entertainment, or technology sectors, preferably with localization experience.

Skills And Attributes

  • Fluency in Korean and English (required).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with a proven ability to track and resolve complex client issues.
  • Ability to maintain workflow independently, respond effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines with speed and sustained accuracy.
  • Independent thinker with high levels of drive, enthusiasm, and a strong willingness to learn.

Business Acumen

  • Proven experience in client-facing roles involving strategic relationship management, business development, or sales.
  • Demonstrated success in closing deals and managing relationships with major content and IP owners, production houses, distribution companies, and aggregators.

Collaboration

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively across sales, marketing, operations, engineering, and product development teams.
