Overview

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role works closely with the wider Locaria Finance Team and the shared Finance function.

Responsibilities

Banking / HMRC Management

Manage bank accounts and HMRC for Canada, Ukraine and the Netherlands:

  • Manage user profiles of all users of our various bank accounts
  • Ensure that all Payments are reviewed and approved in a timely manner
  • Release payments in the bank
  • Ensure CC statements are accurate booked in the P&L
  • Manage all key banking submission deadlines such as Corporation Tax, VAT etc ensuring no penalties are incurred

Month End Reporting/monthly Tasks

Lead the monthend close process for Canada, Ukraine and the Netherlands:

  • Ensure that all monthend postings are done timely in line with the close calendar
  • Ensure that all monthend timelines are met and are closed on time
  • Analysis of all P&L line items from top-line to bottom-line with business drivers
  • Reporting and analysis of monthly results in comparison with Budget/ Forecast/ LY
  • Monthly departmental reporting and review meetings with Department heads
  • Provide analysis and key drivers to the group Finance team for Stagwell (parent Company) month end analysis queries
  • Lead the preparation of monthly/quarterly forecast and annual Budget and present to senior management and the group finance team
  • Manage and report on monthly cross-company charges, ensuring a contract is in place for each agreement
  • Load forecast and budget data into One Stream, if required
  • Automation of existing reports and standardization and Support in development of new reporting
  • Assisting with finance system development and ongoing reviews to find efficiencies within current way of working
  • Ensure that Intercompany balances are aligned and recognized correctly and helping to resolve any out of balances in a timely manner.
  • Help to drive monthend improvements to close the monthend by WD4 so WD5 is for review, ahead of submissions
  • Regular reviews with AR / AP teams to ensure no issues with billing or vendor invoices

Integration

Help to ensure that all Finance processes are integrated where possible to the wider Locaria Group Processes. Ensuring that all processes are standardized where possible and all that can be brought inhouse, is.

Ad-hoc Tasks

  • Assisting with finance system development and ongoing reviews to find efficiencies within current way of working, using Automation and AI tools
  • Provide support for audit to the Accounting Manager and work closely with our auditors in order to provide timely statutory accounts, when / if required
  • Review and update where necessary current excel models and forms of analysis
  • Process payments via the Ukrainian bank as and when required
  • Maintain records in Ukrainian accounting programs (1C,
  • M.E.Doc.), tax reporting & payment (filing and payments of Unified social tax (1 per year), single tax (harmonized tax) 1 per month)
  • Fill in the finance related data into customer surveys, set-up forms, suppliers/ vendors questionnaires, etc
  • To absorb any other ad-hoc tasks

Process And Controls

  • Ensuring all accounting and reporting complies with SOX controls
  • Making Process improvements where possible

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5+ years of Financial Analysis & Accounting experience required
  • Experience with SOX preferred
  • Experience working in a client service industry, preferably language services or content production
  • Experience working with remote international teams

Languages

  • Fluent in Ukrainian native
  • Fluent English (upper intermediate), ability to confidently communicate complex analysis to senior global stakeholders and exert influence

Qualifications / Skills

  • Qualified finance professional CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CFA preferred or working towards qualification
  • Proficient in financial modelling and financial analysis
  • Advanced Excel is preferred – intermediate knowledge essential. Must be able to handle large volumes of data from the accounts system and interpret this data in Excel. Experience with Google Sheets also preferred
  • Familiarity with Maconomy and/or One Stream preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills
