Communications and Translations Lead

W2 Contract

Salary Range: $83,200 – $104,000 per year

Location: Dublin, CA – Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

As the Lead of Store Communications, you will develop and maintain internal communications for Stores and field leadership, focusing on accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of communication projects. You will be the primary point of contact for translation efforts, working with external translation vendors to ensure communications are correctly translated into the required languages. Additionally, you will manage complex, high-scope communications projects and serve as a leader in the Store Communications team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, review, edit, and improve content for all written communications to meet the needs of various departments within the company, such as guides, manuals, tasks, memos, and emails.
  • Manage the development of complex, high-scope communication projects (i.e., planners, communication involving several different business partners, etc.).
  • Develop strong relationships with field partners and leverage those relationships to ensure high-impact and relevant communications.
  • Collaborate with translation vendors to ensure all communications are translated accurately and on time to meet business needs.
  • Act as the point of contact for translation requests, managing vendor relationships, ensuring adherence to project timelines, and coordinating internal reviews of translated materials.
  • Monitor the quality of translations and ensure consistency of language and terminology across all materials. Ensure all communications meet the language and accessibility needs of the target audience, particularly for stores in non-English-speaking regions.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies that support business partner needs and effectively inform field and store audiences.
  • Work cross-functionally with various business partner teams; act as a liaison between the field and corporate departments.
  • Hold business partners accountable for providing appropriate content and adhering to Communications timelines and overall strategy.
  • Maintain an appropriate voice for each targeted audience in all communications to support the company’s cultural experience.
  • Proactively seek feedback to improve communications and visit stores to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Support event planning and execution for annual Field Leadership meetings.
  • Design and produce quality written and visual communications to meet the needs of the Operations group (manuals, store meeting agendas, task management communications, guides, etc.)
  • Develop strong relationships with field partners and leverage those relationships to ensure communications are high-impact, accurate, and relevant.
  • Prepare and publish all types of communication for all stores (i.e., gather technical information, research procedures, layouts, and images).
  • Manage assigned projects to ensure that internal procedures such as schedules, proofreading, printing approvals, and job archiving have been properly completed.
  • Maintain records of translated documents and establishes indexing and tracking systems to ensure that materials are accessible and up to date.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure that translation projects align with the broader communication strategies and timelines.
  • Provide feedback to translation vendors to continuously improve the quality and speed of translated materials.
  • Propose communications solutions to senior management.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Able to read and write fluently in Spanish; bilingual.
  • Able to interact professionally and effectively present information to all levels within the team and organization
  • Strong project management history; proven ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously while managing shifting priorities and delivering quality results
  • Advanced PC skills, Microsoft Office Applications, Publisher, Adobe Suite; experience with SharePoint and task management software a plus
  • Enthusiastic, positive, creative, self-motivated, and open to feedback.
