Job Purpose And Background
Are you passionate about the importance of clear and compelling copy in driving action? Is bringing a brand to life through language and tone of voice, and supporting others to do the same, second nature to you? In this position within CDP’s newly-formed content studio, you will be responsible for ensuring our copy embodies the brand and is consistently engaging and powerful; while also overseeing CDP’s approach to translation to reach our broad audience base around the world.
Experienced at managing and governing copy in a global organisation, you will drive the language and translation strategy to ensure all our audiences can engage with CDP and our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Own CDP’s style guide and tone of voice; demonstrating best practice application and supporting colleagues across the organization to use both effectively.
- Provide copywriting training, tailored to CDP’s verbal brand identity, tone of voice, and key subject matter, to colleagues across the organization.
- Evolve CDP’s style guide and key messaging to cover all core languages and markets.
- Write marketing copy for key materials across multiple platforms; combining creativity with meticulous attention to detail.
- Work with colleagues in the Marketing Performance and Enablement team to test messaging and formats and continually iterate and improve our marketing activity.
- Build and manage CDP’s approach to copy-editing and proof-reading to ensure all of our output is high-quality, on brand, and speaks with a consistent voice.
- Build, manage and iterate CDP’s language strategy, working with colleagues across M&C and globally, to ensure we have a clear and cohesive approach to translation and localization.
- Establish and maintain processes for checking and approving translation, increasing our ability to deliver accurate materials in core languages with speed and agility.
- Work with colleagues, including the designers and videographer, to take a holistic approach to the development and implementation of creative ideas.
Required Skills And Experience
- Proven copywriting experience.
- Ability to translate complex data into a compelling narrative that reflects key messages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling copy.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent proofreading skills.
- Experience of working in a global organization and managing translation projects and initiatives.
- Understanding of the key trends and challenges in translation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and nurture relationships both internally and externally, including complex multi-stakeholder relationships.
This is a full-time permanent role based at CDP’s London office reporting to the Associate Director, Content Studio and Brand Management.
Salary and benefits: £37,643 per annum, 30 days’ holiday, generous non-contributory pension provision, life assurance and others.
