We are hiring a European Localization Specialist to join our Watkins Europe team!

Are you a strong project manager with a desire to directly impact our business? As European Localization Specialist, you will provide support to our International Marketing efforts by localizing communications to multiple languages, with a special focus to French content. We’ll rely on you to ensure the delivery of qualitative localized assets across Watkins Wellness’ portfolio, including being the first point of contact on French projects, coordinating workflows with third parties, and supporting our internal and external communication needs. The materials you work on will help drive sales of our industry-leading Endless Pools®, Hot Spring® Spas, Caldera® Spas, Freeflow Spas®, and Fantasy Spas® products.

YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT

  • Are you quality-minded? You will conduct French linguistic quality assurance, consulting with subject matter experts as needed. You will also consolidate and provide linguistic feedback, such as updating glossaries, to external translators and co-reviewers.
  • Are you a skilled project manager? You will be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day projects run smoothly and that localized content is delivered on-time, on-budget, and on-quality. Further, you will be the main point of contact with third-party vendors including linguists, external DTP vendors, and the web agency.
  • Can you localize textual content? It will be your responsibility to ensure provided source files are localize-ready, including text in photography and/or video.
  • Can you manage content? You will create and send all internal and external communication and will maintain all International Marketing department content according to branding and distribution policies, upholding style consistency throughout each project.
  • Do you have excellent accuracy and clarity? We are looking for someone who is passionate about writing and editing, with the ability to scrutinize texts for accuracy in multiple languages, including punctuation, fonts, sizes, and special characters.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Highly proficient (native-like) in English and French required. Other languages are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s and/or University Degree in Linguistics strongly preferred, with at least two years’ experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Good understanding of international business and localization processes.
  • Knowledge of Translation Management Systems (XTM) a plus.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in using MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and comfortable with the MAC OS X platform.
  • Canva, Smartsheet and Elementor a plus.
  • Eager and enthusiastic learner. Proactive, willing to take on new projects, and adaptable to changing direction.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail. Passionate about accuracy and clarity in writing and editing. Able to scrutinize texts for accuracy in multiple languages, including punctuation, fonts, sizes, and special characters.
  • Ability and comfort multitasking while managing multiple communication plans simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization. Ability to present information to a group of co-workers, supervisors, managers or higher-level executives.
  • Ability to effectively work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time for in-house meetings and occasional events.
