JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ensures that members of the Filipino linguist team are fully trained on clients’ standards and guidelines, and that the work is performed at a satisfactorily high standard within the specified deadlines and quality levels defined by the client.
- Is aware of the performance of the linguist team and takes actions together with the PMs and QMs to improve their performance when needed.
- Ensures understanding of language-specific guidelines, instructions and information within the Filipino linguist team.
- Ensures language-specific expectations are understood by the linguist team and proactively identifies and addresses areas where the team could benefit from additional training or Q&A sessions.
- Proactively proposes solutions for recurring linguistic, sensitive or cultural issues they notice.
- Understands the analysis of quality-related data for Filipino, to contribute in identifying trends, determining any actions to be taken to resolve them and sharing action plan back with clients.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of style guides, guidelines, glossaries and other documentation needed.
- Facilitate Filipino testing and reviewing process for onboarding new linguists, including creating and revamping testing materials.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in Filipino subtitling
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field (preferred)
- Strong understanding of Filipino language nuances, dialects, and cultural sensitivities
- Experience with localization tools, subtitling software, and QA processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback
