Overview
We are currently looking for an In-house French Linguist to join our dynamic team, where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality content and supporting the French in-house team with linguistic tasks. You will work with a variety of clients from different industries, including luxury, retail, travel, and technology, helping them to create engaging content that resonates with audiences around the world.

The Office: We are looking for candidates based ideally in Barcelona and able to go into the office at least twice a week. Candidates based in other Spain locations may also be considered.
Working hours: 10:00 – 18:00 CET
Responsibilities
- Translation/localisation/transcreation/origination of content assigned by Project Managers (expected daily throughput of 2,000 words minimum)
- Machine Translation Post-Editing from English into French (expected hourly output 1,000 words approx.)
- SEO content creation (keyword research and content origination)
- Review of localisations carried out by freelancers and providing feedback on the quality
- Creative copywriting
- Review and evaluation of linguistic tests from potential new freelancers
- Assist with pitches to obtain new clients (review of the brand website, create an error report, evaluate the quality of the content, etc.)
- Taking control of own workload to meet deadlines and prioritize requests from project managers
- Provide market insights, content review, adaptation to other English variants and analysis when necessary
- Keep translation memories, glossaries and term bases updated
- Contribute to style guides and other market-specific documentation
Required Skills
- Native speaker of French
- Translation or Linguistic degree essential
- Excellent command of English (verbal and written), as source texts will be mainly in English
- Experience in copywriting
- Experience with CAT tools (especially Phrase), CMS, and familiar with Translation Project Management Systems
