Internship in Translation Project Management

Summary:

The intern will form part of our Translation Project Management team. The candidate will primarily be responsible for providing support on Translation projects in accordance to the standards of our company.

Position responsibilities:

  • Complete administrative tasks including organization of emails and documents, import/export of data, document creation and maintenance
  • Creating purchase orders
  • Calculate and assign budgets
  • Logging costs, scores, and general job information onto spreadsheets
  • With the guidance of a Project Manager, manage simple projects: placing jobs, setting up and preflighting jobs; contacting linguists and other external and internal vendors, setting up deadlines, and negotiating prices
  • Follow-up with vendors, contact VM team with any requests
  • Formatting using .doc, PDF, PPT,.xls and other types of files; importing images into Word documents, PPT, etc.
  • Performing quality checks on formatted files
  • Aid Project Managers in daily tasks as needed
  • Possess moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Basic – support/admin tasks
  • Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor

Essential skills and experience required:

  • Be enrolled in a university for the duration of the internship period (6 months)
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, other languages would be an asset
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management
  • Some linguistic/translation background
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive, can-do attitude
