We are looking for an experienced Language Quality Manager to join our team.

The Language Quality Manager is responsible for coordinating the work of linguists and client reviewers. They design quality assurance processes and management initiatives. The Language Quality Manager provides feedback to linguists and project managers to ensure quality for the client. Some management experience is required.

Your Role And Responsibilities

  • Designing, setting up and implementing language quality assurance processes and programs to run localization projects successfully and in accordance with project requirements and client expectations.
  • Interacting with client stakeholders as necessary to design, implement and monitor those quality programs.
  • Creating linguistic assets and/or adopting existing ones from clients; maintaining them and updating them as necessary over time: translation memories, terminology databases, and glossaries with various Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
  • Managing translation memories, terminology databases and glossaries with various CAT tools daily.
  • Providing language quality instructions to translators and reviewers and orientating them through the translation and review process to facilitate their job.
  • Managing the review and LQA cycle: design the workflow, monitor the results, and address any lower quality scenarios by analyzing the root causes and providing an improvement plan.
  • Arbitrating in any conflict between linguistic resources including client stakeholders.
  • Validating client review evaluations from linguists prior to being sent to client.
  • Overseeing the client review workflow cycle working with client stakeholders as necessary.
  • Defining and analyzing data and KPIs to monitor the quality of language programs and the performance of language service providers.
  • Working with Technical Solutions and Delivery teams to create linguistic quality general and client-specific dashboards.
  • Provide language quality reports for internal and client consumption as needed.
  • Engaging with Project Managers on linguistic performance and improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in client business reviews and other client events representing Centific and acting as major point of contact on language quality issues.
  • Additional duties as required.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3+ years of experience in a linguistic quality manager role in the translation/localization industry.
  • At least a college degree (BA, BS) in translation or equivalent
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Professional and customer service oriented, with the ability to manage vendor relationships and expectations.
  • Willingness to work overtime if necessary.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and pro-active.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual.
  • Detail and service oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment.

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Fluent in English and in one of the following languages: French, Italian, Spanish, German, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Japanese.
  • Strong computer skills (Acrobat, html, xml)
