Organizational Setting

The Human Resources Division (CSH) provides HR strategies, policies, tools, guidance and oversight to FAO clients worldwide to ensure that the Organization attracts, develops and retains a diverse, skilled and highly motivated workforce, delivering on the mandate of the organization. Over the next years, CSH will focus on developing and implementing a people cantered strategy, and positioning HR as a strategic partner contributing to the achievement of the mandate of FAO.
The Human Resources Division is composed of two main clusters, namely (i) the Integrated Talent Management, providing advice and managing position management, recruitment, mobility, staff development and training, performance management and social security; and (ii) the HR Strategy and Policy providing HR strategic guidance, policy and oversight.)
Reporting Lines
Selected applicants will work under the supervision of the Human Resources Officer, in the Learning and Performance branch (CSHL).
Technical Focus
Provide comprehensive language services, including copywriting, translation and proofreading of learning content from English into the relevant language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
Tasks And Responsibilities
The PSA will support the development of learning and development initiatives, particularly focusing on the translation and localization of eLearning modules from English into FAO official languages. The Language Support Specialist will undertake a wide range of tasks, including:
- Writing, translating, reviewing, and proofreading learning materials to ensure high-quality language accuracy and consistency.
- Adapting deliverables based on subject expert feedback.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
- University or Technical degree in Professional Writing, Translation, Philology, Journalism, Communication, Pedagogy, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 or more years of progressive experience translating and proofreading material/content from English into one the relevant FAO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
- Working knowledge (Level C) of English and one additional FAO official language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish.
