Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled English-to-German Linguist based in Austria who has a strong background in finance and cryptocurrency. The ideal candidate should be capable of translating and localizing content from English to German with accuracy and cultural relevance. A solid understanding of copywriting principles is a strong advantage. In addition to translation, the linguist will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of all German-language content, acting as a gatekeeper for consistency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Translation & Localization
- Translate up to 2000 words per day from English to German while ensuring linguistic accuracy, financial terminology correctness, and cultural appropriateness.
- Adapt translations to maintain clarity, engagement, and brand consistency.
- Localize marketing, product, and technical content for the German-speaking market.
Copywriting & Content Enhancement
- Write and refine German copy for various platforms, including website content, product descriptions, blog posts, and social media.
- Optimize translated content to ensure it resonates with the target audience and aligns with industry standards.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to craft compelling messages tailored to the German-speaking audience.
Quality Control & Gatekeeping
- Review and proofread all English-to-German translations to ensure consistency, tone, and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain a glossary of financial, crypto, and trading-related terminology to standardize language use.
- Provide linguistic feedback and ensure alignment with brand voice and compliance guidelines.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with product, marketing, and localization teams to align translations with business goals.
- Assist in responding to client queries related to German content and provide linguistic support when needed.
- Collect and analyze feedback from German-speaking users to improve content quality.
Requirements:
- Native German speaker with fluency in English.
- Experience in finance, trading, or cryptocurrency is a strong plus.
- Proven expertise in translation, localization, and German copywriting.
- Ability to handle 2500 to 3000 words of translation per day with high accuracy and quality.
- Experience in reviewing and gatekeeping translated content to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CAT tools or translation management systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and content optimization techniques is an advantage.
