Responsibilities:
- Localization Engineering Develop, Maintain, and Enhance localization pipelines to optimize translation workflows, automate tasks, and manage localization assets
- Manage and Support the integration of localization tools, translation memory (TM), glossary management systems, AI-powered tools, and machine translation (MT) systems with other software solutions
- Design and Implement Solutions to streamline localization engineering processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency by leveraging AI and machine translation advancements
- Evaluate and Optimize machine translation outputs and AI-driven localization technologies to improve translation quality and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues related to localization file formats, encoding, platform-specific requirements, and machine translation outputs
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure codebase is localization-friendly, providing engineering support to localize new features and content releases
- Daily Localization Tasks Handle Incoming Localization Requests including file preparation, submission, and file management across different languages and locales
- Coordinate with Translation Vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of translations
- Run Quality Assurance Checks on localized content, testing for linguistic and functional accuracy in the product environment
- Support Cross-Functional Teams by providing guidance and insights on localization best practices and technical challenges
- Monitor and Track localization task progress, ensuring all projects adhere to timelines and quality standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Localization, Linguistics, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a Localization Engineer or in a similar technical localization role
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and experience with localization tools (e.g., SDL Passolo, memoQ, Crowdin, XTM, or similar)
- Knowledge of Translation Standards: Experience with TM, terminology management, and QA tools, and an understanding of file formats (e.g., JSON, XML, PO, XLIFF)
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot encoding, linguistic, and platform-specific localization issues
- Project Management Skills: Basic knowledge of project management practices and tools (e.g., Jira, Asana) for task tracking and reporting
- Communication Skills: Fluent in English, with excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact with diverse, cross-functional teams
- Preferred Skills Development Skills for Integrations: Ability to develop and implement integrations between localization tools, product teams, and other software solutions to streamline processes and enhance workflow efficiency
- Experience in Internationalization (i18n): Familiarity with i18n best practices and working knowledge of Unicode, bi-directional text, and complex script handling
- Jira Administration: Experience in managing and configuring Jira for localization task tracking, reporting, and workflow automation
- Multilingual: Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus
