Localisation Lead – AI Translation (German and French)

As the Localisation Lead – AI Translation (German and French) you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality translation of our product UI, developer documentation, help centre articles, and marketing materials.
This role will focus on Phase 1: German and French localisation, with subsequent phases expanding to multiple additional languages. You will work closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to implement efficient localisation workflows and automations using a combination of third-party Translation Management Systems (TMS) and company’s in-house AI automation tools. Your expertise in localisation technology and processes will help scale our localisation workflows efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and drive the localisation strategy for German and French content across our product UI, developer documentation, help centre, and marketing materials, with a long-term goal of scaling to multiple additional languages.
- Implement and manage Translation Management Systems (TMS) and leverage in-house AI-driven automation tools to optimise translation workflows.
- Develop automated workflows to extract translatable content from UI, documentation, and other materials, reintegrating translations seamlessly.
- Ensure high translation quality through a structured Quality Assurance (QA) process, with a strong focus on German and French.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure localisation requirements are embedded into content creation workflows.
- Establish and maintain glossaries, style guides, and translation memories to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Oversee continuous integration (CI) pipelines for localisation updates, ensuring all translations remain up to date.
- Identify and implement opportunities for scaling localisation efforts to additional languages as part of a phased rollout strategy.
What You Need to Succeed:
- 5+ years of experience in translation, localisation project management, including workflow automation, quality control, and vendor management.
- Proven recent experience in adopting AI-led translation workflows in software translation and continuous integration (CI) within engineering and product teams.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines and automation in localisation processes is a requirement, setting us up for success for ongoing workflows, automations and future languages.
- Proficiency in using and managing TMS platforms and other localisation technologies.
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven translation tools and automation solutions.
- Experience with DeepL and other best in class AI translation solutions is a plus.
- Fluency in German and French is a plus.
- Experience working with product, engineering, and marketing teams in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously.
