The Localization Manager is responsible for managing the schedule, cost, scope, and all aspects of localization projects throughout the project life cycle, adhering to standard policies and best practices. They coordinate cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and oversee resource allocation to ensure timely and within-budget project completion. Additionally, they ensure the high quality and integrity of all project deliverables by conducting thorough reviews, implementing quality assurance processes, and addressing any issues that arise. The Localization Manager also continuously seeks opportunities to improve project workflows and localization strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


  • Manage and lead localization projects from end to end, working closely with internal teams, external vendors, and all stakeholders, following the standard guidelines and best practices.
  • Develop and manage project schedule and budget to ensure successful achievement of all project milestones.
  • Monitor project schedule, progress, and costs to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain, adjust, and update project plans, budgets, and procedures as needed.
  • Understand and manage project scope and needs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage all issues and risks affecting the project in a timely manner and work towards solutions.
  • Proactively develop a good working relationship with all stakeholders and manage expectations. Develop solutions to address challenges and shifting priorities as needed.
  • Provide reports on project status, forecasts, metrics, KPIs, etc., as requested.
  • Set localization standards and guidelines and provide feedback for internal and external stakeholders. Identify best localization practices and create documentation for procedures and processes. Provide feedback and insights for new localization projects.
  • Control the integrity of localized software components using industry standard tools and practices.
  • Oversee translation of game content from Korean to English ensuring cultural and linguistic localization.
  • Be sensitive to the culture of the original languages and the target languages during the translation process
  • Seek and provide constructive feedback.
  • Train, support, and help onboard other Project Managers as team leader.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required
  • 8+ years of game publishing or localization project management experience (experience in software localization is a plus) with 2+ years of lead/supervisory experience
  • Professional proficiency in Korean required
  • Proven track record of managing projects on time and budget
  • Able to lead project teams effectively and facilitate project team engagements
  • Able to work within tight deadlines, technical limitations, and other constraints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiar with localization tools such as MemoQ
  • Proficient in MS Office and able to learn new tools quickly.
  • Knowledge and understanding of RPGs and game localization
  • In-depth understanding of industry standard project management processes
  • Familiarity with NCSOFT games is a plus
