Localization manager (Temporary – maternity leave cover)

This is a unique opportunity to temporarily join MyHeritage as a Localization manager on the MyHeritage Localization team.

With tens of millions of people using our products in 42 languages, your work at MyHeritage will have a direct impact on our global user base. In this role, you’ll be part of the Localization team that owns our translation quality and processes end to end — and across all platforms.

As a Localization manager, you will manage resources that assist in the translation of MyHeritage’s products and services, used by millions of customers around the world. This opportunity includes recruiting and managing translators from multiple countries and providing guidance, support, resources, and tools to complete the translations.

You’ll be part of a dedicated, agile team consisting of product managers, developers, and QA engineers, and you’ll work closely with our Product and Marketing departments and our community of translators and country managers to localize our products.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of translation projects and tasks, working closely with product managers, developers, QA representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Recruit and manage translators and oversee their performance
  • Monitor and control tasks and projects
  • Identify and solve translation issues
  • Perform quality and accuracy checks at various stages of process (especially in languages you are fluent in)
  • As needed, translate content in languages you are fluent in

What you bring:

  • Fluency in English
  • Native speaker of a European language (advantage to Norwegian, German, Finnish, Dutch, Danish, Italian, Polish, or Czech) — a must
  • Can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and learn products and concepts quickly
  • Collaborative nature and ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
  • At least 1 year of experience working as a translator or in another translation-related role — advantage
  • 1–2 years of project management experience — advantage
  • Please note, this is a maternity leave cover position.
