About the job:
We are seeking a skilled Localization Project Manager to lead our talented team of linguists in delivering high-quality localization projects. As the main point of contact for client project communication, you will foster strong relationships with clients and partners to ensure the successful execution of projects. Your responsibilities will include monitoring project progress, timelines, and budgets, while proactively addressing any issues or risks. You will evaluate and resolve issues for various regions, develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for client project communication, nurturing strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Oversee and manage a team of project coordinators and linguists ensuring the execution of localization projects in high quality.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets, while proactively addressing any issues or risks.
- Continuously evaluate, analyze, and resolve culturally sensitive issues for various regions to eliminate potential risks.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including style guides, term bases, and best practices.
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and quality in project execution, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
- Foster an environment of open-mindedness, collaboration, and growth among team members.
- Prepare reference materials, train and assist translators during the localization process, including creating and maintaining style guides, term bases, know-how for the owned projects, and languages.
- Organize and train experts and resources involved in localization projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in handling client communication and managing projects in the digital or IT industry.
- Good work ethic with solid problem-solving skills and the ability to manage aggressive timelines under different time zones.
- Excellent command of English.
- Having the ability to handle projects within a given period properly.
It would be great if you have:
- Deep understanding of the native country’s gaming industry, culture, and community.
- Gamers with 1-2 years of experience in game translation are preferred.
- Knowledge of translation CAT tools is an advantage.
- Experience in people management and leadership is an advantage.
