JOB DESCRIPTION

Position title – Senior Localization Manager

Contract type – Contractor (1 year initially)

Working hours – 9:00 – 18:00 (with flex time and work-from-home possible)

Compensation – 6,000,000 – 9,000,000 JPY / year (based on skill level)

As the localization specialist for, you’ll design and manage the end-to-end localization workflow, from content preparation to final QA. You’ll incorporate localization into our publication workflow, suggesting workflow optimizations as appropriate. You’ll reference and design best practices, glossaries, and style guides to drive content.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage localization workflows for Technology Help Center articles, UI, and metadata into Japanese and Korean.
  • Develop workflows for other regions (EMEA, LATAM) and support initial migrations.
  • Maintain and share key term libraries with localization vendors.
  • Ensure regional content is universally accessible, migrating relevant articles in both local languages and English.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and manage localization budgets.
  • Conduct QA for localized content and implement findings from audits, updates, and user feedback.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align content with company standards.
  • Train content authors in best practices for localization.

Must-Have Skills

  • Fluency in English and Japanese or Korean.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, or related field.
  • Experience localizing content for software, IT, or employee education.
  • Proficiency with translation management software, CMS, and localization tools.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Live in Japan (for employment contract purposes)

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Fluency in Portuguese.
  • Project management certification.
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, FullStory).
  • Availability to work evenings weekly for collaboration with UK teams.
