Fiery Vision: Enable the printer to produce what the designer imagined
Fiery is looking for a Localization Specialist (m/f/x) – Japanese to join our Fiery Business Unit in our office in Ratingen, Germany, near Düsseldorf. The successful candidate will work closely with our developers, localization team and QA team to prevent and quickly resolve defects in digital front-end software.
This role will focus on the internationalization, localization, and linguistic testing of Fiery products. Internationalization testing ensures that the software works uniformly across all regions of the world. Localization testing includes reviewing the localized software for a specific country or region to make sure it is appropriate. Linguistic testing involves checking for linguistic and cultural correctness for the target language.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform linguistic review in a Translation Management System and suggest corrections or improvements. Ensure consistency.
- Review English source text for grammar issues, typos and any ambiguity or peculiarities that could hinder the linguists from providing correct translation
- Update Translation Memories and terminology term bases
- Execute internationalization, localization, and linguistic testing, both on Mac and Windows
- Perform testing on localized software by installing and uninstalling specific builds and using both virtual/physical test machines
- Troubleshoot issues and identify root causes
- Influence and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff
- Apply defined software quality best practices and procedures for localization to design, influence and drive quality
- Classify defects in terms of severity, urgency, importance and impact
- Manage localization testing projects with remote and local teams, ensure on-time completion
- Participate in bug review processes including identifying, documenting and following through on the defect lifecycle
- Specify proper use of inspection and testing equipment/applications
- Review and edit Japanese technical documentations or Marketing material
Essential Skills And Qualifications
- Multilingual skills (advanced B to C level) in the following languages: English (corporate language), Japanese and any other language and is a must. Additional language skills are a plus
- Capacity to work diligently, ability to find errors and mistakes
- BS/BA in Translation, Linguistics, Computer Science, or other related disciplines
- 1-2-year experience in software testing or equivalent school projects is a plus
- Proficiency in PC and MAC environments
- Experience with Jira, Confluence and XTM is a plus
- Rapid comprehension of technical aspects, knowledge of software development/lifecycle and understanding of the impact of changes
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and can-do attitude
- Exceptional logic, problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a group and to prioritize work when necessary
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a virtual and fast-paced environment
