Job Overview
Elite Asia is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Mandarin/Chinese Translator to join our esteemed linguist team as a freelancer. This role is integral to ensuring all assignments align with our clients’ specific requirements, predominantly within the Legal, Banking and Finance, Media, and Marketing sectors. We are particularly looking for professionals knowledgeable in the dialects of Singapore and Malaysia for long-term collaboration and urgent projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute translation assignments that adhere to client specifications.
- Accept and manage translation projects efficiently from Monday to Friday.
- Maintain a minimum daily capacity of 1,200 words, or a weekly capacity of 6,000 words.
- Provide prompt responses to job inquiries, with a one-hour turnaround during office hours.
- Indicate your availability for translation work on weekends and public holidays, if applicable.
Required Skills
- High fluency in both English and Mandarin/Chinese, specifically the Singapore or Malaysia dialects.
- Proficient in post-editing machine translation to ensure human translation quality.
- Strong communication skills and swift responsiveness to client inquiries.
- Ability to handle translation tasks efficiently under specified deadlines.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the translation field; however, fresh graduates with relevant skills are welcome to apply.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following industries: Advertising, Government, Education, Gaming, Legal, Industrial and Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Retail, Technology, or Travel and Hospitality.
