Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled Japanese-to-English translator to help bring popular Japanese manga and webtoon content to Indian audiences. You will work on translating content provided by Japanese publishers and creators, adapting it in a way that resonates with readers in India. Your mission is to convey the full essence of these works to maximize their appeal and impact.
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about Manga & Anime: We’re looking for someone with a strong love for Japanese manga and anime. You should understand Japanese culture, storylines, and character dynamics, and be able to translate them accurately while preserving the unique charm of each story.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Japanese and English is essential. You must be able to translate Japanese text naturally into English, capturing both the meaning and tone.
- Localization Skills: Beyond literal translation, you have a knack for localization, making content relatable for Indian audiences while maintaining its original nuance and appeal.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Japanese manga and anime.
- Experience translating from Japanese to English (project-based experience preferred).
- A portfolio focused on manga or webtoon translation is a plus.
