Job Title: Modern Foreign Languages Teacher

Location: Secondary School in Waltham Forest

Position Overview: As a Modern Foreign Languages Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring and educating our students in French, German, and/or Spanish. You will have the opportunity to utilize innovative teaching methods, resources, and technology to engage students of varying abilities and backgrounds. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive department, collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality language education and contributing to the broader academic and extracurricular life of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs and interests of students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and fosters a passion for languages.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources, including digital tools, to enhance learning outcomes and promote language proficiency.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement cross-curricular projects and enrichment activities that integrate language learning with other subjects.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the MFL curriculum, including the use of authentic cultural materials and real-world contexts.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and supporting the overall ethos of the school community.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
  • Specialism in French, German, Spanish, or a combination of these languages.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting language learning.
  • Experience teaching MFL at the secondary level, with a track record of successful student outcomes.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students and promote inclusivity.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
