Role: Globalization Quality Program Manager
We are looking for a Globalization Quality Program Manager to join Block’s Globalization team. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing quality programs related to localization and international expansion. The ideal candidate will ensure that Square’s products and services provide a seamless, fully localized experience for global users by implementing quality assurance strategies, working with vendors, and analyzing data to improve localization processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine the globalization quality program strategy, ensuring alignment with team goals and KPIs.
- Establish and maintain quality processes, including documentation, training, and support for internal teams.
- Collect and analyze quality data to guide decisions on strategy, budget, and vendor resources.
- Work closely with localization vendors to score and validate data using quality evaluation frameworks.
- Regularly report quality findings and insights to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Optimize tools and workflows by implementing automation to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, product, and content teams, to maintain high localization standards.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in localization, program management, or quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of localization quality assurance and vendor management.
- Experience with TMS (Translation Management Systems), CMS (Content Management Systems), and other translation tools.
- Ability to analyze linguistic data and apply quality measurement frameworks (e.g., DQF).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience creating and managing Terminology Management and Style Guides.
- Ability to explain linguistic challenges and cultural nuances to stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Machine Translation (MT) and MT quality evaluation.
- Knowledge of automation processes in localization workflows.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools for quality assessment and reporting.
Job Details
- Location: Fully remote (Preference for EST timezone to align with teams in Canada & EMEA).
- Duration: Contract role with potential for a 1-month extension to cover an FTE leave.
