Localization Project Manager – App/Game Platform [Japan] 

We are looking for a dynamic and resourceful individual to support localization for a top game/app platform in Tokyo, Japan. This position requires strong project management skills as well as expertise in Japanese. 

This role places you in a highly-energized environment with some of the most diverse and hardworking individuals in the industry where you will be inspired to share your knowledge and years of experience. 

You will be expected to help drive results in the region, and work closely with peers around the world to drive efficiency and cohesion across the global localization organization. 

Key Qualifications 

– Localization project management experience and a clear understanding of the importance of communication with cross-function key stakeholders. 

– Linguistic expertise in Japanese, with experience including but not limited to: 

• Translation/localization, review and copywriting 

• Style guide and glossary maintenance

• Linguistic/functional QA with bug filing 

– Able to work in a dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects depending on urgency. 

– A go-getter with excellent problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills. 

– Tech-savvy and possess the ability to learn new tools quickly. 


In this role, you will: 

-Manage localization projects for a top game/app platform from beginning to end. This requires understanding the subject matter, requesting requirements, setting relevant milestones and schedules, and staying on top of all tasks and projects. 

-Build and maintain strong relationships with a great variety of internal stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed under the required deadline and uphold our high-quality standards. 

-Approve and sign off various types of copy for Japan, from longer-form articles to marketing taglines. 

-Maintain brand tone and voice through a tight collaboration with external writers and copyeditors, providing meaningful feedback on deliverables. 

Education & Experience 

BA/BSc degree in a related field is a plus. 

Additional Requirements 

-Fluency in English and Japanese is required. 

Working hours: six months.

Monday to Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. (UTC+9)
