We are looking for a Quebec French (Canada) Proofreader & Content Reviewer to ensure that our website and product descriptions reflect accurate, natural, and culturally appropriate French translations. Our Shopify store, www.supavapes.com, has been translated using the Transcy app, but since it does not natively support Canadian French, we need a skilled proofreader to refine and enhance the AI-generated translations.
This role involves reviewing 215 product listings, including names, descriptions, and variations (flavors), as well as 16 to 20 landing pages. Some pages may contain partial content updates, such as collection descriptions, that also need to be reviewed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and Proofread: Edit and refine AI-generated French (Canada) translations for Shopify product pages and website content.
- Ensure Localization: Adapt the French tone and phrasing to resonate with Quebec French speakers, ensuring that all content is culturally and linguistically appropriate.
- Maintain Brand Voice & Consistency: Ensure consistency in tone, terminology, and messaging across all pages and product descriptions.
- Correct Errors & Awkward Phrasing: Fix grammatical mistakes, awkward translations, and unnatural sentence structures.
- Improve Readability & Engagement: Enhance descriptions to make them more appealing and persuasive for customers.
- Track & Document Changes: Maintain records of original vs. corrected content to track improvements.
- Optimize for SEO (Preferred): If possible, refine content for French SEO best practices to improve visibility in Quebec-based search results.
Requirements:
- Fluent or Native in Quebec French (Canada).
- Proven experience in translation proofreading, localization, or content writing.
- Familiarity with Shopify & e-commerce platforms.
- Experience with AI-generated translations (e.g., Transcy, Google Translate) is a plus.
- Attention to detail with strong grammar and linguistic skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
