Senior Language Service Manager

Project Management

  • Fully versed in all aspects of language project management including delineating the relevant workstream based on degree of creative complexity, quoting/scoping, assigning work across in-market resources, QC, and project-specific financial management such as purchase order creation and project invoicing.
  • This role will be expected to directly manage projects of varying degrees of complexity across regions. Complexity is defined based on creative nature of the request, revenue, number of markets in scope, and/or whether the project is for an established engagement or considered new business.
  • Provides flawless execution of language workflows that promote high quality, on-time delivery.

Leadership

  • Demonstratable ability to think positively, proactively, and creatively when problem solving.

Technology

  • Significant experience with translation technology, including TMS and CAT tools, AI Translation, and localization automation technology.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends and proactively proposes tools and new solutions to further the development of the service line.
  • Partners directly with Associate Language Services Director and Global Language Service Leadership team to support with workflow creation and overall use of our TMS. Strives to become an expert in our TMS, working in partnership with our technology teams and vendors.

Creative Language Skills

  • Experience managing creative language projects, such as cultural consultations, copy origination, and transcreation.
  • Proven ability to write creative briefs, linguistic insights, and cultural consultation decks, as well as execute creative QC and improve upon the readability of rationales in creative deliverables.

Financial Literacy

  • Provides monthly forecasting on project revenue managed
  • Negotiates rates with global vendor network and ensures appropriate profitability on requests.
  • Proactively flags individual capacity to ensure effective workload delegation (both peaks and valleys)

Background/experience And Skills

  • Fluent in English. Additional foreign language capabilities greatly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, advertising, international affairs, or a related field.
  • 5-10+ years of proven experience
  • Pharmaceutical advertising agency experience a plus
  • Strong proficiency in translation technology. Knowledge of digital production software including Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD), Adobe Acrobat, Sketch, Figma, Pre-Flight software is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Deadline driven, detail oriented, and organized.
