Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager in the translation industry, you will be responsible for managing complex translation and localization projects from start to finish. You will coordinate with clients, lead internal teams, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Your role will involve optimizing project workflows and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage the complete lifecycle of translation and localization projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the primary contact for clients, handling project briefs, addressing queries, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate with translators, localization specialists, editors, and other team members to ensure alignment with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and cultural appropriateness of translations.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources and manage project schedules to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Reporting: Generate and present detailed project reports, including progress updates, risks, and resolutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of project management experience within the translation industry, with a proven track record of managing complex translation and localization projects.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (mandatory); proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of translation processes, localization practices, and industry-specific tools and technologies.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, MemoQ) and project management software is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and manage project teams.
  • Organizational Abilities: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on delivering high-quality translations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions to ensure project success.
