Job Title: Senior Trados Consultant – Cloud Migration & Training (Contract)

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: 3 months contract with strong possibility of extension

Client: Non-profit organization in the technical research industry

Compensation: Open based on market standard

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Trados Consultant with extensive experience in Trados cloud migration and corporate/LSP training. The consultant will lead the migration of local translation memories (TMs) to Trados Cloud and provide hands-on training to help the team become proficient in using the Trados platform. The role is critical to ensuring a smooth transition to Trados Cloud and improving overall efficiency in translation workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the initial setup of Trados between translation memory (TM) and Trados Cloud.
  • Manage the migration of local TMs to Trados Cloud.
  • Provide hands-on training sessions for the team to optimize their use of Trados.
  • Offer guidance on setting up the application, user interface navigation, and project configuration.
  • Assist with translation file opening, creating and managing translation memories, and working in the translation editing environment.
  • Train on confirming translations, saving them to the TM, and re-using existing translations (exact match).
  • Provide support in modifying fuzzy match suggestions, checking spellings, applying formatting, and inserting tags.
  • Guide users on real-time document preview, saving translations (batch task process), and exporting files in MS Word format.
  • Address segmentation adjustments, creating term bases, adding and retrieving terms during translation.
  • Ensure successful connection to Trados Studio in the cloud.
  • Assist with migrating existing TMs and uploading parallel texts for alignment in the cloud environment.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Trados, particularly in cloud migration and training for corporate or Language Service Providers (LSPs).
  • Proven experience in setting up and managing Trados projects, including translation memory management.
  • Strong technical expertise in Trados Studio, including document translation, editing, TM creation, and integration with the cloud.
  • Ability to conduct effective hands-on training, making the team comfortable with Trados tools and workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical processes in a user-friendly manner.
