Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer with strong Finnish language proficiency to create, edit, and manage technical documentation for global audiences. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to produce high-quality content that simplifies complex information.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and maintain technical documents such as user manuals, API documentation, system specifications, and training guides in Finnish and English.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather detailed information about technical products and services.
- Translate technical documents from English to Finnish and vice versa, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards, templates, and branding guidelines.
- Organize and maintain a centralized repository for technical documentation.
- Test product features and software applications to validate the accuracy of the documentation.
- Review and incorporate feedback from cross-functional teams to improve document quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in technical writing.
Required Qualifications
- Language Proficiency: Native or advanced-level fluency in Finnish (written and spoken).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the IT or software industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Tools: Proficiency with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Office, and Confluence.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with software development concepts, APIs, and cloud platforms is a plus.
- Skills: Strong research, organizational, and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with localization and translation of technical documents.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in working with engineering teams.
- Basic understanding of HTML, XML, or Markdown.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
