Location: office-based role @ Pixelogic London (19-22 Rathbone Place)

About The Role

To support our global Digital Cinema team, the 3D Theatrical Subtitling Operator will be required to perform a multitude of processes within our 3D Subtitling team working on feature, trailer and downstream content, ensuring all assets meet the required standards prior to delivery.

The Operator will be responsible for the creation of 3D language versions for Digital Cinema Packages and any downstream associated outputs, along with basic QC tasks.

This role will be primarily based around supporting the 3D content pipeline however, the Operator will work closely with the global 2D team and will be trained in 2D language versioning.

The ideal candidate will be expected to have enthusiasm and a keen interest in film and technology. A basic understanding of the timeline based editorial software and any experience in a QC capacity would be an advantage but not necessary as training will be provided. They will be highly motivated, possess a flexible attitude and must be able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. In addition, they must be able to work as part of a team that deals with changing priorities and workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Perform subtitle pre-qualification for supplied subtitle files to ensure they meet the required technical and client specifications
  • QC and processing of theatrical subtitle files, making temporal and positional corrections according to client guidelines and procedures
  • Creation of final subtitle XMLs (and other file-based deliverables) for feature and trailer content for Digital Cinema, OTT and Home Entertainment, ensuring outputs adhere to highest quality standards and specifications
  • Create and QC 3D stereoscopic subtitles for Digital Cinema and Home Entertainment
  • Advanced final manipulation of translated subtitle assets after receiving files from translators and based on project and client requirements
  • Creation of media and file-based subtitle proofs for client approval
  • Completion of subtitle QC reports composing a clear description to note defects and to include proper details for further troubleshooting
  • Active participation in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any subtitle rejections
  • Abide by company security policies and protect information assets entrusted to you
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must possess good English language skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to adapt to different software.
  • Familiarity of Non-linear Editing tools and applications including but not limited to DVS Clipster, Colorfront’s Transkoder, Final Cut Pro and any DVD or Blu-ray mastering software is a bonus, but training will be provided.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage work orders and work well under pressure to achieve deadlines whilst producing high quality work.
  • Problem solver with creative and innovative approach and the ability to think out of the box.

Experience:

  • Entry Level position with training provided on site.
  • Experience of Non-Linear Editing programs or QC would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience within a Post-Production facility would be an advantage

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College/University or equivalent professional experience
