Description:
- Our learning community requires training in 4 languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. This means we need to have a team of talented language and translation experts available year-round to support the translation process. The editor plays the critical role of reviewing and editing machine translations, and sourcing localized content and images and examples to create high-quality final drafts of translated training content relevant for the specific language audience.
- The editor will provide critical content translation support to the Global CS & Trust Training team. As outlined below, daily tasks will take approximately 8 hours a day to perform.
Duties:
- Translating various training materials from English to Japanese, Korean or Simplified Chinese, as well as reviewing and editing existing translations
- Apply language skills in their specific language to clearly and accurately translate, review and/or create training content
- Being sensitive to the culture of the original languages and the target languages during the translation process
- Localize training materials by providing relevant examples of system interfaces in learners’ corresponding languages, for example, including localized screenshots
- Work closely with a team of Learning Content Designers to develop and implement engaging and effective learning assets and programs
- Work with SMEs as required
- Manage and prioritize training program updates and requests from internal and partner Training staff
- Follow the established schedule of training program updates, including tracking and communication of changes
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience translating, reviewing or creating content in Simplified Chinese environments (elearning, instructor-led learning, virtual instructor-led learning, etc.)
- Advanced skill in the following tools:
- Articulate: Rise 360 & Storyline 360
- Adobe: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere
- Demonstrable experience using Translation Management software
- Knowledge of the translation process, terminology and localization techniques
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy and ability to adapt to different styles and tones
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while consistently delivering high quality results
- Able to work effectively with teammates who live in different time zones and cultures
- Fluency in English and native Simplified Chinese, Japanese or Korean
- Ability to work to deadlines
- A collaborative and learning personality, able to consider direct instruction and constructive criticism with respect to produced work
- Proficient in the use of the Google Suite (Google docs) in a collaborative environment
- Proficient working in an Mac and Windows environment
Compensation:
- $34.72 – 39.17/hr W-2
