VerbiVis Ltd is seeking a Translation Project Manager to join our dynamic and fast-growing team starting in January 2025. If you are passionate about translation and localization and wish to work with prestigious clients; this is the opportunity for you.

Since 1997, VerbiVis Ltd has successfully partnered with high-profile clients, including European Union institutions (European Commission, European Parliament, Translation Centre for the Bodies of the EU), multinational corporations, consulting firms, international law firms, and others. With offices in Europe and Hong Kong, we provide trusted and high-quality language services worldwide.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our projects, working with an international team and managing exciting translation projects for clients across Europe.

Position Details

  • Role: Oversee day-to-day translation project duties, including creating translation kits, coordinating with translators, and managing project workflows.
  • Duration: Initial 6-month freelance contract with the possibility of extension.
  • Location: Open to candidates based within the EU
  • Terms: 40 hours per week, invoiced monthly (independent contractor status).

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Scheduling

  • Efficiently manage deadlines and coordinate tight timelines.
  • Prioritize and organize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee translation workflows, ensuring smooth communication with clients and teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage translation projects from initiation to delivery, including:
  • Preparing files for translation and addressing segmentation or layout issues.
  • Calculating word counts and costs, and preparing translation kits for the team.
  • Coordinating distribution of translation kits and tracking workflow updates.
  • Performing Desktop Publishing (DTP) tasks on final files and ensuring accurate delivery to clients.

Training and Onboarding

  • A comprehensive onboarding process will be provided:
  • Introduction to the relevant processes and tools.
  • Gradual transition from supervised training to independent management of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Education: Translation degree (BA or Master’s) or equivalent qualification.

  • Skills:
  • Strong written and spoken English (additional European languages, especially French, are an advantage).
  • Proficiency with CAT tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.

  • Work Style: Collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in an international team environment.

Contract Terms

  • Employment Type: Independent Contractor
  • Duration: Initial 6-month freelance contract with the possibility of extension
  • Compensation: Aligned with market standards and based on individual experience; invoiced monthly by the successful candidate (independent contractor)
