Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Translator role based in Majuro, Marshall Islands. The Translator will accurately translate written and spoken material between designated source and target languages while maintaining original meaning, tone, and context. Daily responsibilities include reviewing source documents, performing high-quality translations, and proofreading translated content for clarity and consistency. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and external partners to understand context, terminology, and project requirements, as well as preparing glossaries and style guidelines when needed. The Translator will manage multiple assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and ensure all work complies with organizational standards and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in at least two languages, including native-level fluency in one and advanced fluency in the other.
- Demonstrated ability to translate written and oral content accurately, preserving tone, meaning, and cultural nuances.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and editing skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience using translation tools or software, and comfort working with digital documents and productivity tools.
- Strong research skills to verify terminology, idioms, and domain-specific language as needed.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior professional experience as a translator, interpreter, or in a language services role is an advantage.
