We are growing our Sustainability & ESG department and are currently seeking a skilled Climate Communications Specialist to enhance our team’s capabilities and support this strategic expansion.
The key duties of the successful candidate are:
- Translate, proofread, and edit sustainability reports (GRI, Integrated Reports, ESG disclosures) from English to Turkish and vice versa, ensuring precision, consistency, and compliance with industry standards,
- Manage the end-to-end translation workflow and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality outputs,
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to verify technical accuracy in sustainability-related content (e.g., carbon metrics, SDGs, regulatory terms),
- Cross-check data, tables, and references in reports to ensure alignment with source materials,
- Adapt complex sustainability content for different audiences (investors, regulators, NGOs) while maintaining clarity and impact,
- Provide quality assurance for all translated materials, including post-editing and final reviews before publication,
- Support the localization of reports for international stakeholders, ensuring cultural and linguistic appropriateness.
The requirements for the successful candidate are:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Translation Studies, Communications, Social Sciences, or a related field,
- At least 2–3 years of professional experience in translation, proofreading, and editing, with a strong preference for sustainability reports (GRI, Integrated Reporting, ESG, etc.),
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Turkish, with exceptional grammar, syntax, and terminology accuracy in both languages,
- Proven ability to manage translation workflows and coordinate multi-document projects,
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies, formatting errors, and linguistic nuances in complex reports,
- Strong research skills to verify sustainability terminology, frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD), and industry trends,
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot challenges, multitask, and maintain confidentiality with sensitive corporate documents,
- Expertise in CAT tools (Trados, MemoQ, or similar) is a plus,
- Experience in an agency, consultancy, or corporate setting focused on sustainability, climate, or ESG communications is a plus.
