We are looking for a colleague to join our tabii team as an English QC Editor in Ankara.
We seek an experienced English QC Editor to review Turkish-to-English subtitles, dubbing scripts, and localized content. The ideal candidate will ensure translations are accurate, natural, and culturally appropriate while meeting industry and platform standards.
Job Description:
- Review translations for accuracy, readability, and timing, ensuring compliance with platform guidelines.
- Check dubbing scripts for linguistic accuracy, lip-sync alignment, and character consistency.
- Ensure all adapted content, including subtitles and dubbing materials, is culturally appropriate and consistent.
- Identify and correct mistranslations, omissions, and formatting errors.
- Provide constructive feedback to translators and language teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in subtitle QC, dubbing, or localization.
- Native or near-native English proficiency, with excellent grammar, fluency, and adaptability.
- Advanced Turkish comprehension, with a strong ability to interpret and localize content effectively.
- Experience in subtitle QC, dubbing adaptation, or media localization.
- Knowledge of industry standards for major platforms.
- Proficiency in subtitle editing tools.
- Strong grasp of timing rules, CPS limits, line breaks, and dubbing constraints.
- Ability to detect inconsistencies, mistranslations, and cultural misinterpretations.
- Familiarity with lip-sync adaptation, script editing, and dubbing workflows.
- Experience working with streaming services, dubbing studios, or translation/localization companies.
- Understanding of regional English variants (US, UK, etc.).
