Working within a defined test strategy and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), you will collaborate closely with QA Engineers, QA Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, natural, and culturally relevant voice interactions for customers.
Responsibilities

- Perform cultural and linguistic validation to ensure responses are accurate, natural, and appropriate for the target locale, including verification of localisation elements such as date, time, units, and currency.
- Assess linguistic aspects such as language fluency, dialect features, colloquialisms, speech fluidity, pitch, tone, and overall cultural relevance of responses.
- Run automated test scripts, review automation failures, analyse root causes, and collect logs and traces to support further debugging.
- Reproduce defect behaviour in components and features to validate issues and confirm that fixes are effective.
- Perform defect verification to ensure resolved defects no longer reproduce across relevant environments, locales, and devices.
- Create clear, well-documented defect reports with detailed steps to reproduce, expected versus actual behaviour, logs, and screenshots.
- Escalate appropriately when test scripts fail or when actions are required that deviate from established SOPs.
- Analyse test results and provide clear, structured reporting on test execution status to stakeholders, partners, and other teams.
- Install and configure software, tools, and test environments across multiple platforms, including Mac, Windows, Linux, and mobile devices, to support testing activities.
- Recommend improvements to SOPs, tools, and metrics to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
- Support regression testing by executing test plans across multiple locales, endpoints, and device types.
- Collaborate closely with team members to remove blockers, share findings, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Apply strong attention to detail and follow documented procedures precisely to maintain consistency and reliability in test outcomes.
- Use Microsoft Office and similar productivity tools to document findings, prepare reports, and manage test-related data.
- Leverage research and analytical skills to investigate issues, interpret logs and error messages, and distinguish between product defects and environment-related problems.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
- Proven experience executing manual and automated test cases in a structured testing environment.
- Hands-on experience with defect creation and management using bug tracking tools such as JIRA.
- Ability to review automation failures, identify root causes, and differentiate between genuine defects and environment or data issues.
- Ability to read and interpret logs, traces, and error messages for debugging and issue analysis.
- experience installing and configuring software, tools, and test environments across Mac, Windows, Linux, and mobile devices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow documented procedures and SOPs accurately and consistently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for documentation, reporting, and collaboration with distributed teams.
- Technical aptitude and confidence working with software tools, test environments, and device configurations.
- Self-sufficiency in following SOPs, troubleshooting basic blockers, and escalating issues appropriately.
- Proactive communication style, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, blockers, and test results without prompting.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the quality and accuracy of test results.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office or similar office productivity tools.
- Solid data entry capabilities and research and analytical skills relevant to QA and testing work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Fluent proficiency in one or more non-English languages, particularly Dutch, German, and/or French.
- experience with cultural and linguistic validation, ensuring that content is appropriate, natural, and accurate for specific languages, dialects, and cultural contexts.
- experience testing voice assistants, conversational AI, or products based on natural language understanding (NLU).
- Familiarity with automation frameworks and the ability to run and review automated scripts, for example using Python, Ruby, or Shell scripts.
- experience with internationalisation (i18n) and localisation testing across multiple languages and locales.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and a clear understanding of the Software Test Life Cycle (STLC).
- experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, including participation in sprints and iterative delivery cycles.
- Familiarity with smart home and IoT devices such as voice-enabled speakers, streaming devices, and tablets, or similar consumer electronics products.
- Interest in languages, social and cultural anthropology, consumer product internationalisation, and large language models.
- Understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles, including quality management systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology where relevant to content or domain-specific testing.
- Demonstrated bias for action, taking initiative to unblock testing, pick up available work, and contribute to team goals.
- Curiosity and a strong desire to learn new tools, technologies, and testing practices, continuously improving skills and processes.
