Project Coordinator (Focus on Linguistic)

Overview

The Dubbing Project Coordinator in Bespoke Lab plays a pivotal role in managing the linguistic aspects of freelance resource allocation and ensuring smooth production workflows. The Dubbing Project Coordinator is responsible in bridging the gap between project management and strict linguistic quality control. The primary focus will be managing the lifecycle of the script, from reviewing early freelancer translations/adaptations to mastering the As-Recorded Script (ARS) post-recording. The Dubbing Project Coordinator will ensure that the final text perfectly reflects the recorded audio while maintaining high linguistic and technical standards. Additionally, you will coordinate freelancer workflows to keep the production pipeline moving efficiently.

Responsibilities

1. Pre-Production and Post-Production Review

  1. Review and evaluate translated and adapted scripts submitted by freelance adapters to ensure they meet quality standards before recording.
  2. Support the conduct of LQC on recorded audio tracks, ensuring that performance, pronunciation, and emotional intent align with project requirements.

2. As-Recorded Script (ARS) & Proofreading Focus

  1. Listen to final recorded audio tracks and meticulously update the dubbing script to match exact spoken dialogue, capturing ad-libs and approved line changes.
  2. Proofread and perform quality control on final recorded scripts assigned to freelancers. Catch and correct discrepancies in terminology, character names, formatting, or missed lines to ensure a gold-standard final product.
  3. Format, package, and deliver final approved as-recorded scripts to clients strictly according to their technical guidelines and specifications.

3. Project Coordination & Workflow Efficiency

  1. Assist the Project Manager in sourcing, assigning, and scheduling freelancers specifically for ARS and script adaptation tasks.
  2. Maintain fluid, proactive communication with freelancers and internal dubbing team members to track progress and ensure all deadlines are met seamlessly.
  3. Undertake additional coordination and administrative duties as required to enhance the overall workflow efficiency and creative output of the dubbing team.

Qualifications

  1. Bilingual Indonesian and English speaker with an in-depth understanding of linguistic aspects, including but not limited to grammar, idioms, puns, and cultural nuances in general
  2. Must have a minimum of 1 year of work experience as a linguist/project coordinator
  3. Must have familiarity with the media localization industry, particularly with the dubbing process
  4. Excellent project management skills, including prioritization, scheduling, and documentation
  5. Able to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans
  6. Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time management
  7. Employs strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  8. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, G Suite, Apple computers, and Zoom
  9. Highly analytical and meticulous
  10. Able to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
