Content Engineer / Learning Technology Content Architect
Location: Austin, TX (On-site Tuesday–Thursday; Remote Monday & Friday)
What You’ll Do
Content Modeling & Transformation
- Apply and populate structured content models for technical enablement assets, including learning objectives, conceptual modules, procedures, and assessments.
- Work within established schemas, taxonomies, and metadata frameworks to ensure content is accurately tagged and easily retrievable.
- Deconstruct and transform source materials from technical documentation and SME input into modular, reusable content components.
Systems Integration & Workflow Execution
- Prepare and load content into core delivery platforms to enable dynamic, intelligent learning experiences.
- Validate content quality using established standards, rules, and automation pipelines.
- Use scripting and command-line tools to build, maintain, and refine publishing and automation workflows.
- Execute and monitor localization workflows, partnering with vendors and internal teams to support scalable translation pipelines.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with content strategists, SMEs, engineering teams, and program managers to support content systems, authoring tools, and publishing workflows.
- Serve as a technical resource for structured authoring and content modeling best practices.
- Work closely with AI and learning innovation teams to prepare structured assets that support adaptive learning and personalized study experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in content engineering, information architecture, or a related technical role.
- Proven experience with component-based content models and schemas.
- Strong understanding of taxonomy and metadata management.
- Experience with API-driven content delivery and proficiency with command-line interfaces.
- Familiarity with modern learning technology stacks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in highly collaborative environments.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information into structured content systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality user experiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technical Communication, Information Science, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in technical training, professional certification, or corporate enablement.
- Understanding of enterprise-scale device or platform ecosystems.
- Scripting skills for automation and workflow tooling.
- Experience with localization pipelines and translation systems.
- Familiarity with advanced search, personalization, or adaptive learning platforms.
Engagement Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 6-month contract, with potential renewal for up to 18 months
- Hours: 40 hours per week (core hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
- Work Schedule: On-site Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; remote Monday and Friday
- Flexibility: Option to flex to 20–30 hours per week based on personal schedule and business needs
- Location: Partially on-site in Austin, TX
- Pay Range: $58.00 to $62.00 per hour on a W2 basis
