Localization Data Analyst (Europe)

At Terra, we are looking for a Localization Data Analyst to join our team on a 6-month temporary assignment supporting one of our AAA gaming clients. This is a fully remote role that requires regular collaboration with teams based in the United States and the United Kingdom. Candidates should be comfortable working within and overlapping with US and UK business hours.

In this role, you will bridge localization operations and machine learning data requirements, ensuring that localization data is properly structured, documented, and validated from the start, enabling scalable AI-driven localization initiatives and process automation.

Role Overview

The Localization Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring that localization data is AI-ready. This includes defining data requirements, documenting content and workflow structures, and validating data quality to support automation, machine learning, and localization technology initiatives. Working closely with localization, quality, and technical stakeholders, this role helps establish the foundation for scalable AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data discovery and readiness activities for localization AI initiatives.
  • Define and maintain content classification, labeling, and documentation standards.
  • Support glossary governance, terminology quality, and language-specific data requirements.
  • Establish data quality policies and translate business needs into AI-ready requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and remove data-related blockers.
  • Monitor data quality trends and implement continuous process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with localization workflows, including translation management systems (Smartling preferred), LQA, glossary management, and multilingual content.
  • Ability to interpret and work with localization metadata, content taxonomies, and TMS-generated data.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure, validate, and improve data quality for technology-driven or AI-enabled initiatives.
  • Experience creating clear documentation, requirements, and process guidelines for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, structured data formats, and data analysis techniques used to support operational decision-making.
  • Ability to gather requirements, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to identify risks, drive process improvements, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, automation, or data preparation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with game localization and live-service content environments.
  • Knowledge of localization quality frameworks, machine translation evaluation, or AutoLQA methodologies.
  • Exposure to APIs, data pipelines, ETL processes, or other automation-related workflows.
