Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Spanish ⇄ English Medical Interpreter. The interpreter will provide real-time language support for medical appointments, consultations, and related healthcare interactions, ensuring accurate and clear communication between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking medical professionals. Day-to-day tasks include performing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation via phone or video, accurately conveying medical information, and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. The interpreter will use company-provided platforms and tools, follow established protocols, and document basic session details as needed. Inexperienced candidates will receive a one-week training to become qualified and gain familiarity with medical terminology, interpretation standards, and company systems.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Medical Terminology for Spanish ⇄ English communication.
- Proficiency in Interpreting and Simultaneous Interpretation in medical and healthcare settings.
- Ability to perform accurate and context-appropriate Translation between Spanish and English when required.
- Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical standards in medical environments.
- Reliable high-speed internet, a quiet workspace, and comfort working with remote communication platforms.
- Prior experience in medical or healthcare interpreting is preferred; training will be provided for inexperienced candidates.
- Relevant education in languages, translation, interpretation, or healthcare-related fields is an advantage.
- Willingness to complete a 2 week training (10 business days) for candidates with no prior experience in remote medical interpretation.
