About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Language Specialist to join our dynamic team at BIG Language Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally appropriate translation and localization services across various languages and industries. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure that all language deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and timeliness. The ideal candidate will possess strong linguistic skills, a deep understanding of cultural nuances, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a relevant bachelor’s degree in languages, translation, linguistics, or a related field. Certification in translation or localization (such as ATA, CIOL, or similar) is preferred. Candidates must have proven experience in translation, localization, or interpretation, with a strong portfolio demonstrating linguistic proficiency and cultural competence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in at least two languages are essential. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines are crucial for success in this role. Familiarity with CAT tools, translation management systems, and industry-standard software is highly desirable. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are also important attributes.
Responsibilities
- Translate documents, websites, and multimedia content accurately while maintaining the original tone and intent.
- Localize content to ensure cultural appropriateness and relevance for target audiences.
- Review and edit translations produced by other team members to ensure consistency and quality standards.
- Collaborate with clients and project managers to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
- Utilize CAT tools and translation memory systems to improve efficiency and consistency across projects.
- Conduct research on terminology, industry-specific language, and cultural context to enhance translation quality.
- Provide feedback and guidance to junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the development of language glossaries and style guides to maintain consistency across projects.
