Job Title: British Linguist (UK – British English)
About the Role
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in British English (UK), including exceptional reading, writing, listening, and comprehension skills.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Transcription
- Translation
- Captioning
- Localization
- Linguistic Quality Assurance
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently apply style, grammar, and formatting guidelines.
- Comfortable working with audio review tools and transcription/QA platforms.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable home office setup, including:
- Stable high-speed internet connection
- Quiet and distraction-free workspace
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically in Transcription QA rather than first-pass transcription.
- Familiarity with linguistic annotation standards and transcription conventions.
- Experience working on large-scale, high-volume linguistic data projects.
- Understanding of transcription workflows, quality metrics, and language quality frameworks.
- Experience supporting speech recognition, AI, or language technology programs.
Location: Remote
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $30K–$35K USD annually. Pay within this range may vary based on geography, experience, skills, and applicable qualifications.
