LOCALIZATION ENGINEER
Position Summary
Localization Engineers are technically skilled individuals with a desire to troubleshoot and create solutions for technical production issues including TM management, script development for data manipulation, and defining strategies for project executions.
The successful candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced work environment, working alongside our Localization Engineers and Project Managers to develop creative solutions for handling complicated files and workflows. S/he is self-motivated to learn and become an expert in localization and our company’s technology products.
What You Will Do
- Provide daily, project-based technical support to Project Management and sales departments
- Facilitate company-wide technology rollouts
- Assist project managers and linguists in troubleshooting issues related to the translation process
- Validate new features in our CAT tool, TM Server and Analysis Package products
- Management of Translation Memories (TMs), Automation of file analysis, parsing, and filtering
- Prepare various file types for the localization process (including re-coding and script writing as needed) to ensure compliance with clients’ requirements and integrity of data
- Provide quotes on new projects for sales and production upon request
- Providing technical support to translation vendors
To Be Successful You Will Have
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of computer, scripting, and markup languages including (but not necessarily all of) VB, VBA, Perl, ASP, JSP, XML, HTML, XLIFF
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe software, and Internet software
- High level of proficiency in Windows platform
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge of regular expressions and XPath
- Experience in a related field, with experience as a Localization Engineer preferred but not required
