About the Project
We are seeking a Hebrew linguist based in Israel to support a language technology project focused on Hebrew diacritics and pronunciation. The selected contractor will provide linguistic expertise to help ensure accurate usage of Hebrew script and alignment with modern spoken Hebrew.
Responsibilities
- Provide linguistic consultation on Hebrew diacritics (Niqqud) usage.
- Review and advise on Hebrew script accuracy and readability.
- Evaluate the relationship between written forms and modern Hebrew pronunciation.
- Answer language-related questions and provide recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Support quality assurance activities related to Hebrew language content.
Requirements
- Hebrew speaker from Israel.
- Strong understanding of Hebrew orthography, including Niqqud (diacritics).
- Familiarity with modern Israeli Hebrew pronunciation.
- Background in linguistics, language studies, translation, localization, teaching, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to provide clear linguistic explanations.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
