Role Description
This full-time remote role is for a Japanese Trainer/Translator who will deliver online Japanese language training and provide translation support for internal and client-facing needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting structured lessons, creating and updating learning materials, and adapting content for different proficiency levels, including middle school–age learners and adult professionals. The trainer will assess learner progress, provide feedback, and support learners in developing reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in Japanese. The role also involves translating documents and communication between Japanese and English, collaborating with other trainers and teams, and ensuring high-quality, culturally accurate language support.
Qualifications
- Experience in Teaching and Language Arts, with the ability to design and deliver engaging Japanese language lessons.
- Background in Curriculum Development and Middle School or similar educational environments, including age-appropriate lesson planning.
- Strong Communication skills in both Japanese and English for instruction, feedback, and translation tasks.
- Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher, or equivalent certification) and solid understanding of Japanese culture.
- Prior experience as a language trainer or translator in an educational or corporate setting is preferred.
- Comfort with remote teaching tools, online learning platforms, and basic productivity software.
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules across time zones, and meet training and translation deadlines.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Japanese language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is an advantage.
