About the Role:
Hiring: Transcription QA Linguist & Multilingual Hiring Initiative
Job Title: Language Translator / Audio Translator / Data Annotator
Key Responsibilities
- Review transcription output against source audio to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to style/formatting guidelines.
- Identify and correct transcription errors, including misheard words, mis-timed segments, punctuation, and speaker labeling.
- Apply light corrections to bring transcripts to required quality standards; flag files that show signs of requiring substantial rework beyond standard QA scope.
- Maintain consistency with style guides and project-specific glossaries/terminology for the assigned language(s).
- Meet productivity and quality targets on a recurring (hourly-rated) basis.
- Communicate clearly with the project team on recurring quality trends, ambiguous audio, or edge cases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in the assigned language (reading, writing, and listening comprehension), and strong working fluency in English where the role involves an English pairing.
- Demonstrated experience in transcription, translation, captioning, localization, or linguistic QA.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently apply style/formatting guidelines.
- Comfortable working with audio review tools and standard transcription/QA software (training provided as needed).
- Reliable home office setup with a quiet work environment and stable internet connection (remote, US-based engagement).
- For language pair roles: fluency in both the main and secondary language listed for that role.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience specifically in transcription QA (rather than first-pass transcription).
- Familiarity with linguistic annotation or transliteration conventions for the assigned language.
- Experience working on large-scale, high-volume linguistic data projects.

Salary and Other Compensation: The salary for this position is between $25,000 – $30,000 USD annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
