Description
The Studio X team is looking for an Interactive Design Lead who will be a hands-on leader, leveraging the latest technology and methods for interactive and motion design to raise the bar of surprise and delight for our customers’ digital engagements.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Product and Program Managers, Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Digital Marketers, and Digital Strategists.
- Design discovery—analysis of research insights, requirements gathering, and defining customer needs.
- Create design artifacts—user stories, user journeys, personas, and user flows.
- Brainstorm, sketch, and design website experiences and UI design patterns for smartphones, tablets, laptops, and larger screens.
- Design for research/testing including interactive prototypes, and HTML/CSS prototypes.
- Participate in group creative critiques with cross-functional roles.
- Create Engineering-ready design specs including device-break point, micro-animations, soft/hard guardrails, and design system documentation.
- Contribute to the expansion of a central design system in Figma with pattern and interaction and motion models.
- Present design concepts to key stakeholders and leadership.

AWT Studio X sets the foundation for all website experiences and content—deeply interested in the performance of content, experiences created by other teams, and success of teams leveraging the Website channel to engage their customers. We ingest research, data, and customer objectives for product, partner, brand, growth marketing, demand generation, localization and other AWS stakeholder orgs and adapt for the web space. We create mechanisms that improve stakeholders’ ability to create optimal customer content and delightful experiences.

Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices
- Knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and demonstrated ability to communicate and present complex concepts and ideas.
- Team player capable of collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and digital marketers to deliver high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborative creator capable of leading and actively participating in creative critiques, leading design discussions, and contributing documented best practices.
- Demonstrated experience synthesizing large, strategic & challenging business, technology and customers’ needs into actionable plans with demonstrated impact.
- Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action with proactive communication in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows
- Micro-animation, Lottie animation and motion design
- UX design experience across global markets.
- App or Product design
- HTML/CSS prototyping
- CMS (AEM, CQ)
- Figma (required)
- Principle or Framer (preferred)
- Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate (preferred)
- Blender, Cinema 4D, Spline or other 3D applications nice to have
- Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator (required)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
